St. JOHN BEAUSOLEIL ROSE (2016)
IGP Pays d'OC
Finally our new rose has arrived! The vines are based around a town called Pomerols on the Mediterranean coast, only a few kilometers from the beach. It neighbours Pinet, famous of course for it's Picpoul de Pinet!... and similarly there is a redolence of the salty sea and a feeling of the warm Languedoc sun within this wine. It is a vin de soif, which is a wine to just drink, a social wine, to be enjoyed generously on those weekends where the sun does appear on our shores! A beautiful pale salmon pink in the glass, with bright raspberry and strawberry fruit notes, there is also a delicate suggestion of red petals, it has some concentration and presence on the palate which make it suitable for the lunch and dinner table, it makes us hungry for seafood, particularly oysters from the neighbouring town of Bouzigues!
